Treataware

Treataware logo Treataware (formerly the AIDS Treatment Project Australia) is a specific and dedicated treatment program, auspiced by NAPWA, that aims to promote health monitoring, treatments and treatments awareness, and support education and information initiatives for people living with HIV/AIDS.

The ATPA was formed in 1998 as an extension of the work of the Treatments Working Group of PLWHA NSW, and was subsequently moved under the auspices of NAPWA due to the need for a national outreach program for HIV treatments. In 2008 the project was renamed Treataware.

Treataware's work today includes:

  • Treatments information and a searchable database of HIV clinical trials.
  • Development of HIV treatments-related educational materials and fact sheets.
  • The national Treatments Information Roadshow events held around Australia.
  • Hosting the popular Chin Wag community discussion forums.
  • Working with the Australasian Society for HIV Medicine (ASHMAustralasian Society for HIV Medicine. The peak Australasian organisation representing the medical and health sector in HIV/AIDS and related areas. ) to present the Short Course in HIV Medicine for community workers and the HIV pharmaceutical industry.
  • Facilitating the national Treataware Outreach Network (TON).
