Introductory Workshop on HIV & International Work

Are you planning to work overseas where HIV may be a significant issue? Then this workshop is for you!

The Introductory Workshop on HIV & International Work has been developed in collaboration with ACFIDAustralian Council for International Development. ACFID is an independent national association of Australian non-government organisations (NGOs) working in the field of international aid and development. For further information, see the ACFID website., Albion St Centre, ASHMAustralasian Society for HIV Medicine. The peak Australasian organisation representing the medical and health sector in HIV/AIDS and related areas. , AVI, Burnet Institute, Griffith University, MSF, MSIA, NAPWA, NCHECRNational Centre in HIV Epidemiology and Clinical Research. Based at the University of NSW in Sydney, NCHECR is one of Australia's leading medical research centres and is recognised internationally as a leader in the field of research into HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis. , Oxfam Australia, Red Cross, SHAFPA, The University of Queensland School of Medicine and World Vision.

It presents snapshot coverage of contemporary issues in HIV and assumes no prior knowledge in this area. A key component of the day is the provision of resources and contacts to source further information.

The development of this workshop is in response to the number of participants attending education activities in HIV and provides an opportunity to up skill in this area prior to departure for work overseas.

Where:

Brisbane — venue confirmed on enrolmentThe act of signing up participants into a study. Generally this process involves evaluating a participant with respect to the eligibility criteria of the study and going through the informed consent process.

Cost:

Full $495.00, Student $330.00 all (inc GST)
Participants required to cover own travel and accommodation costs

Limit:

Min of 30 and max of 80 participants
