Story • Jo Watson • 1 April 2010

This week ASHMAustralasian Society for HIV Medicine. The peak Australasian organisation representing the medical and health sector in HIV/AIDS and related areas. has made available a new resource: "Guide to Australian HIV Laws and Policies for Healthcare Professionals", which aims to respond to some of the concerns and issues that face HIV health acre providers under various laws and regulations in relation to HIV around Australia.

NAPWA launched its own HIV Criminalisation Monograph in October last year.

NAPWA believes this ASHM publication is another valuable resource to support Health care workers and HIV positive people as we all work together to develop effective responses in these complex environments.

While it is designed to assist doctors, ASHM expects it will be of considerable use in the policy area.
